Pregnancy: 1st Trimester in Review

My husband and I found out that I was pregnant December 1st, 2024 five days before my birthday. We had our first ultrasound around 5 weeks, I had thought I was around 7 weeks but the ultrasound dated earlier which I was fine with since I wanted to have more time towards the end of pregnancy if needed. On Christmas we told our families and started to get very excited. I did not have many symptoms throughout my pregnancy but the ones I did have were in the first trimester. My most notable one was my mood, I was very stressed and frequently annoyed with my husband (sorry babe). Other symptoms were fatigue and needing to eat as soon as I woke up. Other than that my symptoms were very mild, thankfully. The OB we were going to at the time had nurses do your Doppler and BP when you first got in for your appointment. My placenta was anterior which must have made it hard to find the heart rate for some reason, even though I never had issues at the other OBs we went to. Every visit for my first trimester I went in and they ended up having to do an ultrasound because they couldn't find a heart beat (SCARY). Overall I would say the first trimester was difficult mentally for me, physically not too bad. Use this trimester to do your research if you haven't already and ask questions to make sure your provider is the best fit for you. Ideally you should "interview" your provider pre-pregnancy if possible.
